Ischia Attractions

The tourist centres on the island are Ischia/Ischia Port, Casamicciola, Forio, Lacco Ameno and Terme but Ischia ponte (perhaps the most beautiful), Serrara Fontana, Sant’Angelo (recommended as no cars are allowed into the centre) and Barano d’Ischia are definitely the more picturesque locations.

Castello d’Ischia, just off Ischia Ponte, situated on an islet, is a 14th century cathedral complete with weapons museum and small churches.

For the avid gardeners, there is La Mortella, one of Italy’s most attractive landscaped gardens with plants from all over the world and from Monte Epomeo, there are fantastic views.

There are also many beaches and bays as well as thermal spas in which to relax and explore.

Ischia has a typically Mediterranean climate, mild in the winter and very warm in the summer. The average temperatures in winter is 13°C while in the summer, 23°C, with the warmest months being July and August.
